I am an out-of-network provider with some insurances, allowing you to see me and seek reimbursement through insurance via a superbill. Services are paid up front, and you are responsible for submitting the provided superbill with details of your consultation to your insurance carrier.
Verify with your insurance policy prior to booking to determine your coverage for lactation services. Depending on your policy, you may be eligible for partial or full reimbursement.
The Affordable Care Act states, “Health Insurance plans MUST provide breastfeeding support, counseling, and equipment for the duration of breastfeeding. These services may be provided before and after birth.” The only exceptions to this are state funded health care plans and grandfathered plans.
Your insurance plan is a contract between you and your insurance company. If you want to know exact coverage, please reach out to them for information. Keep in mind you may be partially or totally reimbursed or may need to reach your deductible to be eligible.
If for some reason your insurance company does not cover the cost for my services, I want to assure you that in being a self-pay patient, my price is in line with my expertise, education, and skills. I am passionate about what I do, I care deeply about every family I work with and strive for excellence in my work. With that said, if you are experiencing financial difficulty, you may be entitled to a sliding scale rate. Please contact me before booking if you have experienced lay off or job loss.
